American Gods TV series adds a load of new cast members

Find out who’s just joined the cast of Bryan Fuller’s American Gods

All American Gods news is good news, but this one is triply good. The upcoming TV series has added not one but three new actors to the ever-expanding cast. Huzzah!

First up is BATFA-winning actor Sean Harris (The Borgias), who will be playing Mad Sweeney, who gives Shadow a gold coin that indadvertedly brings his late wife back from the dead in the book.

Next is Yetide Badaki (Aquarius) as Bilquis, a prostitute who devours men via her vagina. She’s also believed to be half-jinn.

The final latest addition to the cast is newcomer Bruce Langley, who is set to play the Technical Boy, one of the New Gods in Neil Gaiman’s story. The Technical Boy is the new god of computers and the Internet, and is adamant that the new gods should prevail over the old gods like Mad Sweeney and Bilquis.

There are quite a few characters still to cast, but the ensemble already looks amazing. Harris, Badaki and Langley are joining the likes of Ricky Whittle as Shadow Moon, Ian McShane as Mr Wednesday and Emily Browning as Laura Moon.

The American Gods TV series was created and written by Bryan Fuller and Michael Green, both of whom are also acting as showrunners, and Fuller, Green, Neil Gaiman, Craig Cegielski, Stefanie Berk and Thom Beers are all serving as executive producers.

American Gods will air on Starz in 2017. Get all the latest fantasy news with every issue of SciFiNow.
