It’s finally time to start getting fully excited for American Gods. If you thought you were excited before, just wait.

Deciding to spoil us all early, network Starz has today released a brand new batch of stills from the show, which you can fawn over in the gallery above. They’re kind of low res, but what’s resolution compared to content and sexy lighting?

American Gods been translated into over 30 languages and earned numerous accolades including Hugo, Nebula and Bram Stoker Awards for Best Novel. The plot posits a war brewing between old and new gods: the traditional gods of mythological roots from around the world steadily losing believers to an upstart pantheon of gods reflecting society’s modern love of money, technology, media, celebrity and drugs. Its protagonist, Shadow Moon, is an ex-con who becomes bodyguard and traveling partner to Mr. Wednesday, a conman but in reality one of the older gods, on a cross-country mission to gather his forces in preparation to battle the new deities.

The show stars Ricky Whittle as Shadow Moon, Ian McShane as Mr Wednesday, Emily Browning as Laura Moon, Pablo Schreiber as Mad Sweeney, Yetide Badaki as Bilquis, Bruce Langley as Technical Boy, Jonathan Tucker as Low Key Lyesmith, Crispin Glover as Mr World, Cloris Leachman as Zorya Vechernyaya, Peter Stormare as Czernobog, Chris Obi as Mr Jacquel, Mousa Kraish as the Jinn, Gillian Anderson as Media, Omid Abtahi as Salim, Orlando Jones as Mr Nancy, Demore Barnes as Mr Ibis, Dane Cool as Robbie, Kristin Chenoweth as Easter, Corbin Bernsen as new character Vulcan, Jeremy Davies as Jesus and Beth Grant as Jack. Bryan Fuller and Michael Green are teaming up to act as showrunners.
