Amazing Stories remake coming from Bryan Fuller

Bryan Fuller is reviving Steven Spielberg’s Amazing Stories

The classic anthology TV series Amazing Stories, produced by Steven Spielberg, is getting an update at NBC.

EW reports that the 1985 show about incredible (and often supernatural) stories, which ran for two seasons, is being revived at the network with Bryan Fuller producing alongside Under The Dome and Extant‘s Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank.

Fuller will also be writing the pilot script for the show, but it’s unclear as to whether he’ll be working in a showrunner capacity, especially given his commitment at Starz with American Gods. Spielberg reportedly is not taking part in the Amazing Stories remake.

Directors on the original series included Spielberg, Clint Eastwood, Joe Dante, Martin Scorsese, Danny DeVito and Tobe Hooper (and Burt Reynolds). Fingers crossed that Fuller and his team can wrangle some similarly impressive behind-the-camera talent.

You can buy Amazing Stories: The Complete First Season on DVD for £7.30 at Amazon.co.uk. Keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
