According to Variety, Django Unchained star Jamie Foxx is currently in talks for a villain role in the sequel to Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man, and the word on the street is that he’s playing Electro, teased in the mid-credit scene at the end of the movie.
Foxx tweeted playfully, “Dressed up as Electro for Halloween last night. Costume fits well.”
Commenting at a launch event for the DVD/Blu-ray, director Marc Webb laid it on pretty thick, saying, “I think Jamie Foxx is electrifying! I think Jamie Foxx is one of the best actors around today. He’s such a great character actor and he’s a really brilliant guy. I would love to work with him and you’ll be hearing more on that shortly, I’m sure.”
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be in cinemas 2 May 2014. The Amazing Spider-Man is out from 26 November 2012, pre-order it now on DVD for £10 and Blu-ray for £14.99 from Amazon.co.uk. Thwip thwip, folks.
