ABC has been on a renewing spree and among the happy winners are Agent Carter, which is getting a Season 2, and Agents Of SHIELD, a Season 3.

Agents Of SHIELD‘s renewal was looking like a given anyway, but fans of the Hayley Atwell-led drama have been campaigning via social media for a second season for some time, using the hashtag #RenewAgentCarter.

Atwell was of course thrilled about the news and tweeted the following responses:

In contrast, there’s also some bad news (or more good news, depending where you stand). Deadline reports that the untitled Marvel spinoff starring Bobbi “Mockingbird” Morse (played by Adrianne Palicki) and Lance Hunter (Nick Blood) that was planned is no longer in the works.

The series was quietly being developed by SHIELD executive producer Jeffrey Bell and co-producer Raul Zbyszewski and would have spun off from the events of Agents Of SHIELD‘s Season 2 finale. Oh well.

Agents Of SHIELD continues on Tuesdays on ABC in the US and Fridays on Channel 4 in the UK. Get all the latest superhero news with every issue of SciFiNow.
