ABC orders Eastwick, V to series

ABC has given the green light to Eastwick, based on the Jack Nicholson-starring 1987 film The Witches Of Eastwick, and the remake of the cult classic V, to go to series this autumn.

v_lABC has given the green light to Eastwick, based on the Jack Nicholson-starring 1987 film The Witches Of Eastwick, and the remake of the cult classic V, to go to series this autumn.

V stars Morena Baccarin (Stargate SG-1, Firefly), and is expected to be a 13-episode event, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The series retains the original premise but has been updated to a modern setting. Eastwick’s pilot was directed by perennial pilot helmer David Nutter, who now has a perfect score for show’s he’s taken the reigns of the first episode for going to series. Nutter previously directed the debut entries for Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Supernatural among others.

ABC previously ordered a series for Flash Forward, based on the novel by Robert J Sawyer in which the whole world witnesses a brief flash of their future. The show has been heavily promoted through Lost’s final episodes of the season, and is hoped to be a replacement for the Peabody-award winning show when it finishes its run next year.
