According to Variety, not only has Fast & Furious star Gal Gadot signed up for a three film deal as Wonder Woman, DC Comics’ flagship female character, but one of these films will be the long-mooted Wonder Woman movie.
The three movies (which will earn the star $300,000 each time) Gadot is expected to appear in as Diana are Zack Snyder’s increasingly busy Batman Vs Superman/Man Of Steel 2, the Justice League movie, and her own solo film.
This three film deal compares pretty unfavourably to the nine movie deal that Marvel typically hands out as Warner Bros are reported to be extremely cautious about the hostile reaction to the Gadot casting. As far as the studio are concerned, Wonder Woman’s future hinges entirely on how she’s received in Man Of Steel 2.
It’s time to ask yourself fans: would you rather kill a Wonder Woman film as a knee-jerk reaction to an actor you don’t know enough about, or is it time to turn the hate and the bodyshaming around so we can give this a shot?
