Jurassic WorldDirector Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) has confirmed that his upcoming Jurassic World will be a sequel to Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park, and will not be a reboot.

Trevorrow took to Twitter to answer a fan’s concern that his movie would be a reboot of the 1993 classic.

“Reboot is a strong word. This is a new sci-fi terror adventure set 22 years after the horrific events of Jurassic Park.

Jurassic World has cast Bryce Dallas Howard (50/50, Twilight: Eclipse), Ty Simpkins (Insidious) and Nick Robinson, with Guardians Of The Galaxy‘s Chris Pratt rumoured for the male lead.

Jurassic World is set for a 12 June 2015 release date. You can buy the Jurassic Park Ultimate Trilogy on Blu-ray for £11 at Amazon.co.uk.
