It looks like The Walking Dead Season 4 will be the Governor’s last as actor David Morrissey signs on for AMC pilot Line Of Sight, according to Deadline. Not only that, but it’s the lead role – “as Lewis Bernt, a National Transportation Safety Board investigator who survives a mysterious plane crash, bringing him on an emotionally disorienting quest to discover the accident’s cause.”
But what does that mean for his role as the big bad in The Walking Dead? The network couldn’t give a definitive answer:
“We are huge fans of David Morrissey,” they told Deadline in a statement, “and are glad he’ll be doing double duty for AMC viewers through his work on The Walking Dead and our pilot for Line Of Sight, both of which are produced in Atlanta.”
When Morrissey first joined the show in Season 3 he signed on for 5 series. It’s customary for actors to sign a contract for 7 years on US TV programmes, but The Walking Dead had already been running for 2 years prior to his casting. When we caught up with Morrissey earlier this year, we asked how he’d like to be remembered if and when he leaves…
“It’s a great ensemble and when I watched the first two seasons with John Bernthal as Shane and stuff like that, being part of a great show is all you want to be,” Morrissey told SciFiNow exclusively. “You want to make your mark and I think the Governor has already done that. I’ve had great fun and Andy [Lincoln] is such a great leading actor that to be part of the team that he leads is just such a privilege, really.”
