The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey‘s Peter Jackson hasn’t forgotten about his earlier plea to direct an episode of Doctor Who, in fact he told EW that he met with showrunner Steven Moffat over Christmas and offered to do it for free.

“They don’t even have to pay me, but I have got my eye on one of those nice new gold-colored Daleks. They must have a spare one (hint, hint).”

Doctor Who returns with ‘The Bells Of Saint John’ on 30 March 2013. You can read our spoiler-free preview of the episode here.
