Perhaps this is evidence of an overarching strategy on 20th Century Fox’s part as they move their clutch of superhero movies into the post-Avengers Assemble world, but Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn has signed on as producer for Chronicle director Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four reboot.

The news was broken by Vaughn’s best bud and Fox’s creative consultant for all things Marvel, Mark Millar, who said on Twitter, “Just off the phone with Fox and some excellent news – Matthew Vaughn is producing Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four reboot!”

Although no longer directing X-Men: Days Of Future Past, Vaughn is still involved as producer, along with Richard Donner and Lauren Shuler Donner.

Fantastic Four is due in cinemas 6 March 2015. Buy Josh Trank’s Chronicle now on DVD for £9.36 and Blu-ray for £11.99 from Amazon.co.uk.
