We were originally led to believe that we’d be seeing one 3D Star Wars prequel a year in 2013 and 2014, with the original trilogy to follow, but it looks as though the poor theatrical showing of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace 3D (it took $44 million in the US, compared to the original showing’s $431 million) seems to have forced Lucasfilm to downscale their ambitions.
Star Wars: Episode II – Attack Of The Clones 3D and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge Of The Sith 3D will be hitting cinemas back-to-back on 20 September 2013 and 11 October 2013 respectively.
