Star Wars: Attack Of The Clones and Revenge Of The Sith 3D both coming in 2013

Has The Phantom Menace’s poor 3D takings forced Lucasfilm to rush out Episodes II and III?

Count Dooku and Yoda face off in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack Of The Clones

We were originally led to believe that we’d be seeing one 3D Star Wars prequel a year in 2013 and 2014, with the original trilogy to follow, but it looks as though the poor theatrical showing of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace 3D (it took $44 million in the US, compared to the original showing’s $431 million) seems to have forced Lucasfilm to downscale their ambitions.

Star Wars: Episode II – Attack Of The Clones 3D and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge Of The Sith 3D will be hitting cinemas back-to-back on 20 September 2013 and 11 October 2013 respectively.
