23 Jump Street is that Men In Black crossover! Yes!

21 Jump Street idea that sounded too amazing to happen is actually happening

Remember the Sony email hacks? Well, one of the many, many snippets that got out was the fact that a crossover between 21 Jump Street and Men In Black had been mooted. We loved the idea, but then we didn’t hear anything more about it…UNTIL NOW.

Variety reports that The Muppets and The Flight Of The Conchords director James Bobin has been tapped to blend the two franchises, giving Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum’s Schmidt and Jenko an adventure even more incredible than going to college, but roughly as incredible as that amazing 22 Jump Street sequel montage.

The site notes that Phil Lord and Chris Miller will be too busy to return for the third Jump Street as they’re tied up with Disney’s Han Solo solo movie, to which we just have to say “Fair enough.” They’ll stay on as producers, however.

It’s also stated that Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are not expected to return as Jay and Kay, as the studio wants to “use this film to relaunch the franchise with younger, fresher faces.”

Now, this idea sounds incredibly stupid. But consciously turning stupid ideas into brilliant films is kind of what the Jump Street movies have been all about, and we absolutely can’t wait for this.
