Twilight director Bill Condon reminds fans: “these are actors playing parts”

Twilight director tells fans to leave Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson alone.

Twilight stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have been receiving a lot attention lately, but not for the fanged franchise. After news broke of Stewart’s affair with Snow White And The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, fans have been posting their reactions on the internet.

Now, Breaking Dawn director Bill Condon has stepped into defend his leading actors, telling EW: “The fact is, these are actors playing parts, and maybe it’s not such a bad thing that people be reminded of that. Both of these actors gave heart and soul to the Twilight movies, not only during shooting, but also by navigating so graciously the whole life-in-a-fishbowl aspect of the phenomenon.

“Above all they have always shown great respect for the fans who made these movies such a success. Now it’s time that some of that respect be returned to them.”

Robert Pattinson is scheduled to make his first public appearance since the split on 15 August. Apparently, he will be taking part in an unrestricted interview on Good Morning America, the same show that singer Rihanna appeared on to talk about her domestic abuse experience with Chris Brown.

Breaking Dawn: Part 2 hits cinemas this November.
