After receiving a brilliant reception and winning the prize for Best Screenplay at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, the upcoming satirical thriller The Substance has been confirmed for a UK release date of September.

The movie follows Elisabeth Sparkle, a former A-lister past her prime and suddenly fired from her fitness TV show by repellent studio head Harvey.
She is then drawn to the opportunity presented by a mysterious new drug: THE SUBSTANCE. All it takes is one injection and she is reborn – temporarily – as the gorgeous, twenty-something Sue.
The only rule? Time needs to be split: exactly one week in one body, then one week in the other. No exceptions. A perfect balance. What could go wrong?
Written and directed by Revenge’s Coralie Fargeat, the movie stars Demi Moore (Ghost), Margaret Qualley (Poor Things) and Dennis Quaid (Strange World).
The Substance will be in cinemas in the UK and Ireland on 20 September 2024
