Twilight actor Robert Pattinson is on the hunt for a new franchise to star in and, naturally, Star Wars has come up. When asked by a Tabloid whether he would sign up for another franchise after one as lengthy as Twilight, he replied:
Yeah I think that’s a powerful thing. You look at something like Star Wars. No one’s going to call Star Was a franchise… Just after the new ones. [Laughs] The first three, that was a series, not a franchise.
Then he was asked whether he would consider taking a role in Episode 7 and, unsurprisingly, he replied, “Absolutely. In a heartbeat.”
But then… he was asked if he’d take it even if that role was Jar Jar Binks, to which he replied,
I actually kind of like Jar Jar. I don’t understand what the big deal is about Jar Jar.
Binks with a mumbling, melodramatic Edward Cullen voice? And there was us thinking he couldn’t get more annoying…
