Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore

Wands at the ready people, not only have we been told the title and a little about the third instalment of the Fantastic Beasts series, but it is also set to be released three months early!

Originally scheduled to be out in July next year, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore has been shifted to be released in cinemas globally on 15 April 2022, and potentially earlier in a few international markets.

Here’s what to expect from Newt Scamander’s next adventure with the official plot of the new film…

Professor Albus Dumbledore knows the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald is moving to seize control of the wizarding world. Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts Magizoologist Newt Scamander to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old and new beasts and clash with Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers. But with the stakes so high, how long can Dumbledore remain on the sidelines?

Many of the characters from the first two Fantastic Beasts films will be returning for the new instalment, including Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander and Jude Law as Albus Dumbledore along with Ezra Miller as Credence/Aurelius Dumbledore, Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstein, Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski and Katherine Waterston as Tina Goldstein.

Also, Jessica Williams, who had a brief appearance in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, will return as Ilvermorny professor Eulalie ‘Lally’ Hicks, while Mads Mikkelsen will debut as Gellert Grindelwald.

The film will once again be directed by David Yates and will reunite producers David Heyman, J.K. Rowling, Steve Kloves, Lionel Wigram and Tim Lewis, along with executive producers Neil Blair, Danny Cohen, Josh Berger and Courtenay Valenti. The screenplay is written by J.K. Rowling and Steve Kloves.

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore will be out in cinemas on 15 April 2022.
