The Which Ant-Man? mystery surrounding Edgar Wright’s forthcoming Marvel movie has finally been resolved with the new that Hollywood veteran Michael Douglas has been cast as Hank Pym.

This all but confirms Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man as the usurper Scott Lang, who lifts the technology from Pym and becomes a reluctant – if occasionally selfish – hero.

Marvel Studios boss Kevin Fiege said in a statement, “With Hank Pym’s rich history in the Marvel Universe, we knew we needed an actor capable of bringing the weight and stature to the role that the character deserves.

“We felt incredibly relieved when Michael Douglas agreed to step into the part with the charm and fortitude he brings to every character he inhabits, and couldn’t be more excited to see what he will do to bring Hank Pym to life.”

Ant-Man will be released on 31 July 2015. Pick up Edgar Wright’s Scott Pilgrim Vs The WorldShaun Of The Dead and Hot Fuzz as one Blu-ray box-set for £16 or on DVD for £18.75 from Amazon.co.uk
