The Pushing Daisies creator Bryan Fuller is producing a reboot of ’60s classic The Munsters. TV Line reports that NBC has given the go-ahead and Fuller told the site: “I am over the moon Eddie Munster will soon be howling at.”
A spokesman added that the pilot will be an “imaginative reinvention of The Munsters as a visually spectacular one hour drama.”
Fuller’s take on the supernatural family living in America suburbia is reported to be “edgier and darker”, exploring the origins of Herman and Lily Munster (originally played by Fred Gwynne and Yvonne De Carlo) and how they came to reside in 1313 Mockingbird Lane.
Fuller has also been commissioned by the US network to produce a one-hour drama based on the Hannibal Lecter character.
