Sword fighting, I Am Legend-style city overgrowth and an obvious necklace MacGuffin headline this generous four-minute trailer of new Abrams/Kripke serial drama Revolution. It’s certainly impressive when it comes to the effects, and the premise is genuinely interesting – judging by the response so far, however, it seems that people have lost their faith in big network dramas making it past Season One (Awake, Alcatraz, FlashForward, The Event, Terra Nova, and many more being recent examples of high concepts let down by a lack of network faith), and the worry again is that it’ll disappear before we really know all the answers. Still, NBC has given the drama a Monday night slot after stupid-but-popular reality show The Voice, which demonstrates a certain amount of faith, so fingers crossed it can get some traction.
