dwa1DreamWorks Animation has announced its release line-up for the next two years, and among the inevitable there are a couple of surprises.

As reported by Variety, DreamWorks is going ahead with both a fourth Shrek movie (titled Shrek Forever at this stage) and sequel Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom Of Doom. With these films arriving in 21 May 2010 and 03 June 2011 respectively, it’s the original features that the company is developing that garner the most interest.

First up is superhero feature Oobermind. This film stars Robert Downey Jr who plays a supervillain finding life a little dull after defeating Ben Stiller’s good guy nemesis Metro Man. The film is also set to feature the vocal talents of 30 Rock’s Tina Fey.

Following this, DreamWorks has announced How To Train Your Dragon, a film set in the world of Vikings and dragons. This already has an impressive cast with Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, America Ferrera and Jonah Hill all attached to star.

Lastly, The Guardians sees popular childhood figures Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, Jack Frost and the Sandman joining forces to defeat a scary Bogeyman. DreamWorks has stated that all these future films will be presented in 3D.

Oobermind has been scheduled for an 05 November 2010 release date. Preceding this, How To Train Your Drago will arrive in multiplexes on 26 March 2010 while The Guardians will debut on the later date of 04 November 2011.
