Fillion wants to bring back Firefly

“If I won the lottery, I’d buy the rights to Firefly” says Nathan Fillion

If we all lived in a parallel universe where Fox realised it made a mistake and came crawling on its virtual knees to Firefly creator Joss Whedon, begging to bring him back, then rest assured: Nathan Fillion would be onboard.

“Yes. Yes. I would examine very closely Fox’s reasoning — I’m a little gun-shy. If I got $300 million from the California Lottery, the first thing I would do is buy the rights to Firefly, make it on my own, and distribute it on the Internet,” Nathan Fillion who played Captain ‘Mal’ Reynolds told Inside TV.

Following this statement, Firefly writer Jose Molina tweeted: “For what it’s worth, I’ve told him I’d drop what I was doing and follow.” Then Jane Espenson (who penned the episode Shindig and is also co-creator of Warehouse 13) added: “I’m there, if needed.”

This website is even taking it as far as trying to raise the funds for Fillion’s (probably) flippant comment to come true. Meanwhile, fans can watch re-runs of Firefly episodes on the Science Channel on March 6 at 8pm.
