Christopher Lee as Saruman

Christopher Lee as SarumanSir Christopher Lee has kicked off the New Year with a video blog talking about his latest film appearances. Despite nearing his 90th birthday (May 27th), the British actor with the booming voice has starred in Hugo, The Wicker Tree (a sequel awaiting release date), Dark Shadows (out May 11th) and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, out in December.

“At this stage in my life I obviously don’t accept long parts, I don’t think I have the energy for that,” said Lee, revealing that his filming for both parts of The Hobbit have been completed and it only took four days. “I hope I live to see it,” he adds, and reminds fans that whilst he will be playing Saruman, he is a “good and noble man, head of the wizards council” as the films take place long before The Lord Of The Rings trilogy.
