Alien: Covenant first look at Danny McBride

Here’s your first look at Danny McBride on the bridge in Alien: Covenant

The first look at Danny McBride from Alien: Covenant has arrived, courtesy of the Alien Anthology Twitter page.

It follows snaps of Michael Fassbender and Katherine Waterston on the Alien: Covenant set, as well as yesterday’s news that Prometheus star Noomi Rapace would indeed be returning.

Honestly, we’re really excited about the idea of McBride in an Alien movie. We’re hoping that he’ll bring a kind of recognisable humanity and humour to the film, much like Harry Dean Stanton and Yaphet Kotto did in Scott’s first Alien. Recognisable humanity and humour was something that was sorely lacking in Prometheus, despite the best efforts of Idris Elba, whose character did get to smoke a cigar and play an accordion, but did also seduce Charlize Theron’s character by suggesting she was a robot…or something. And he was just a terrible captain in a lot of ways.

Alien: Covenant also stars Demian Bichir, Billy Crudup, Carmen Ejogo, Jussie Smollett, Amy Seimetz, Callie Hernandez and Alexander England, and is written by Michael Green, Jack Paglen and John Logan.

“Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.”

Alien: Covenant will be released on 6 October 2017. You can download Alien: The Complete Manual from GreatDigitalMags.com now. Keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
