Man Of Steel stirred some debate in the SciFiNow office. One reviewer called it “an outstanding summer blockbuster”, while another slammed it for being “shocking, disrespectful and lazy”.

How to settle this argument? Ask Suranne Tyley, who celebrated her 9th birthday by watching Man Of Steel with friends… Was it the best day ever, or did Superman spoil the celebrations?

Did you like the film?
It was amazing.

What was the best bit about that film?
When Superman was fighting General Zod I was excited because I did not know who would win. He killed him because he was going to kill the children. I’m not sure how he did it, I think he was punched.

What did you think about Superman after he killed General Zod?
General Zod was an alien, and Superman usually puts them in jail but he had to do it [kill him] because one person doesn’t matter, but billions do. It was for the sake of the world.

Were there any boring bits?
When they were talking at work in the newspaper office.

Would you recommend this film?
Well, I don’t really know. It was boring when they were talking but there was lots of action fighting, not many superhero movies have that much fighting in. Superman’s costume looked a bit like a reptile, it looked good.
