Robert Kirkman, the creator of The Walking Dead comic book series and Executive Producer of the TV show, has confirmed to EW that a popular character will be making an appearance soon…
“A big deal fan-favorite from the comic book is introduced into the show in [episode 8], so be on the lookout for that.”
Word is that The Wire‘s Chad Coleman will be playing the role of the former NFL linebacker, who was introduced in issue #7 along with his daughter, Julie.
In the comics he had romantic relationships with both Carol and Michonne and became Rick’s go-to-guy (a position currently filled by Daryl).
We’ll find out whether it’s Tyreese or someone else in the mid-season finale…
The Walking Dead is currently airing on Fridays at 10pm on FX in the UK.
