8. Dumbledore / Voldemort

After Harry and company do battle with the Death Eaters and Sirius Black is shoved off the mortal coil by Bellatrix Lestrange, Lord Voldemort returns to try and turn Harry to the darker side of wizardry. However, never one to see his star pupil in peril, Dumbledore arrives on the scene to rain on Big V’s parade. Voldemort conjures up everything in his arsenal from glass showers to fire demons, but Dumbledore takes it all on the chin. Only when the Dark Lord possesses the boy wonder does he cause Double D any problems.
7. Yoda / Palpatine

Film: Revenge Of The Sith
Though the thought of a little frog man versus an OAP doesn’t seem that exciting on paper, when Yoda and Palpatine meet as part of ROTS’s finale, it’s quite some brawl. The green guy shows he’s still got what it takes by bouncing around like a super-charged power ball, but by revealing the extent of his powers, Palpatine defeats Yoda and casts him into exile.

Good choices all round – i thought you were going to miss the all-important Star Wars battle there but you got it in! Don’t forget the Doctor’s many battles with the Master though!
Nice selection, although I reckon Anakin vs Obi Wan in Ep III is waaaaay better than the Empire fight, or Duel of the Fates! Where’s that! I also agree with the Neo fight though, it’s epic.
Good overall list, but Duel of the Fates and Anakin vs Obi is questionably missing.
Considering Spiderman was mentioned – Why isn’t Batman VS The Joker in the top 10? I think that is the quintessential Superhero VS Supervillain showdown!
Pretty good list, but where’s the Darth Maul fight from Episode I? That was better than the Yoda/Palpatine fight. So was the Anakin/Obi-Wan duel for that matter. And how did Ripley vs. the queen alien not make it on here?
If you’re going to put Alien vs Predator, then you HAVE to put Freddy vs Jason. This is a ridiculous list.
