Despite co-creating the series with Damon Lindelof and Jeffrey Lieber, Abrams’s involvement in the show since season two has largely been in the executive producing capacity. As reported by Screen Rant, Abrams had this to say to when interviewed by Time:
Star Trek soared at the US box office this weekend after hitting a total gross of 72.5 million dollars. With figures provided by Box Office Mojo, the film was shown on 7,400 screens spread across approximately 3,849 sites. In addition to this, a further 4 million from Thursday night’s preview showing will be included, pushing the final figure closer to the 80 million dollar mark.
