X-Men: Apocalypse new poster is survival of the strongest

A dire warning on the new teaser poster for X-Men: Apocalypse

A new teaser poster for Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse has arrived (via IMPAwards), and it’s not making any promises of a happy ending.

We recently heard that the first proper trailer (as in, not that bootlegged Comic-Con one) will be shown before Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and we can’t wait to get a proper look as Oscar Isaac as the supervillain Apocalypse, beyond the slightly awkward promotional shots where he looks a little uncomfortable.

Other newcomers include Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler, Lana Condor as Jubilee, Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Ben Hardy as Angel and Olivia Munn as Psylocke.

“Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.”

X-Men: Apocalypse is in UK cinemas from 19 May 2016 and US cinemas from 27 May 2016. Get all the latest superhero news with every issue of SciFiNow.
