According to X-Force comic creator Rob Liefeld, the long-mooted X-Force movie has been derailed by 20th Century Fox’s decision to press ahead with X-Men: Apocalypse in the wake of X-Men: Days Of Future Past‘s universal reboot.

Kick-Ass 2 director Jeff Wadlow was coyly attached to direct and the film was slated to combine different incarnations of the team from different eras of the comic.

“Everything changed when X-Men: Apocalypse was announced,” said Liefeld on Twitter.

When asked if the movie will still happen, the artist replied: “Coin toss I’d wager…” but cautioned against too much negativity, adding “Be patient!”
