Brad Pitt’s World War Z sequel has brought on Steven Knight as screenwriter.
Variety reports that the writer of Locke, Dirty Pretty Things and Peaky Blinders will script the zombie apocalypse sequel for JA Bayona (The Orphanage, Penny Dreadful) to direct.
They also confirm that Pitt will return as the film’s star Gerry Lane, as well as producing through his Plan B Productions.
World War Z was plagued by reports of reshoots and going grotesquely over budget, but it made more than $540 million worldwide to become Pitt’s biggest earner ever.
