Strangely, I never saw “Bubba Ho-Tep” as either a comedy, or a horror movie. Sure to be remembered as Don Coscarelli’s masterpiece tho.

Plans are still in motion for Bubba Nosferatu even if it is without Bruce Campbell’s involvement. Paul Giamatti has been championing the project for some time now, Ron Perlman has spoken openly about wanting to do the movie, a decent script has been written and Don Coscarelli is still keen on getting the project off the ground. As I understand it the problem currently comes from finding funding for the movie. Bubba Ho-Tep was an offbeat movie and really only found its feet on DVD after a disappointingly small run in cinemas. I guess investors are a bit twitchy about taking a punt on a sequel to a small scale movie like Bubba Ho-Tep especially in these financially turbulent times. Bubba Nosferatu looks to follow on from the original and the script appears to have some great sequences. Having watched the project slowly coming together over the last few years I would be very happy to see it start filming asap. Bruce Campbell was a obviously big part of the original movie and he did a really great job, it is a shame not to see him back in the bulging jumpsuit for Bubba Nosferatu but I reckon Ron Perlman could do a good job of stepping into the role. I’m certainly keeping my fingers crossed that Bubba Nosferatu hits the screens sometime soon.

My Name Is Bruce was pretty awesome. Indeed it could have been better, but I’ll still be looking out for his next flick.

I secretly enjoyed Bubba-Ho-Tep for the B Movie that it was, and Ossie Davis and Bruce Campbell were great in their roles! Didn’t think much of My Name Is Bruce though, as it promised so much but delivered very little. It’s a shame we might not be getting Bubba Nosferatu any time soon, but remember there may be the prospect of Evil Dead 4 to look forward too!

Any news of an Evil Dead 4?

As much as I loved Bubba-Ho-Tep, I’d much prefer if Coscarelli did a final Phantasm film. Maybe if Bubba Nosferatu stalls he might return to his first series

The latest on this sequel is that Giamatti is still interested in starring, and that he thinks Pearlman would be the right fit to play Elvis. This was back in 2008, mind.

It’s great that Don Coscarelli still has hopes for a sequel, but I think without Campbell, and the late Ossie Davis, a sequel is a less appealing prospect.

I thought Bubba Noseratu was a go? With Paul Giamatti as Col. Parker and Ron Pearlman stepping in as Elvis? I was sad to hear that Bruce Campbell wasn’t interested in doing the prequel/sequel though because I thought he did a fantastic job on Bubba Ho-Tep.
