MGM’s long-mooted reboot of John Badham’s bleak 1983 sci-fi actioner/Cold War conspiracy thriller WarGames is eyeing up a director, according to Deadline.
The site reports that newcomer Dean Israelite is in the running, while The Wrap adds that possible leads are The Fault In Our Stars’ Ansel Elgort and Mud‘s Tye Sheridan.
The original WarGames was an 80s classic in which Matthew Broderick and Ally Sheedy played teenage hackers who accidentally set the Department of Defense computer system to nuclear war footing.
