Wanted 2 readying for action

Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov has announced in an interview with the Russian press that a sequel to his bullet-bending feature is in the works. Speaking to RIA Novosti he said the following:

“In July we will start preparation for the film. I think in the late autumn or winter shooting will be performed. The shooting will take place in America, India and Russia.”

On the subject of casting, Bekmambetov has announced that Angelina Jolie’s character was in line for resurrection, as well as the introduction of some new faces to this proposed sequel. Adding to this the director showed intent to bring back another surviving member of the original Wanted.

“As for the character played by Kostya Khabensky, we’ll think about it. We might possibly resurrect him as well.”
