Viral trailer unleashes the worm flu outbreak

The trailer for Viral is not as gross as we thought it might be

The trailer for upcoming Blumhouse horror Viral, starring Analeigh Tipton (Warm Bodies), Sofia Black-D’Elia (Project Almanac) and Michael Kelly (House Of Cards), has arrived.

The movie is directed by the Catfish and Paranormal Activity 3 and 4 duo of Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (who also have Emma Roberts/Dave Franco thriller Nerve coming out this summer), and offers up “worm flu” as the new reason to lock yourself inside and to not let anyone touch you. It’s written by Barbara Marshall (Terra Nova) and Christopher Landon (Paranormal Activity 2-4, Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse).

“Following the outbreak of a virus that wipes out the majority of the human population, a young woman documents her family’s new life in quarantine and tries to protect her infected sister.”

Disappointingly, there’s nothing in that trailer as skin-crawling as the film’s poster…
