A double whammy of Twin Peaks excitement occurred during the TCA press tour yesterday when the Showtime official Twitter account tweeted a minimalist coffee cup poster with the message: “Shooting starts in September. The donut truck is loaded late August. A coffee cup will indeed come through a window. #TwinPeaks“.

After all the drama that has so far surrounded the Twin Peaks reboot (David Lynch leaving, David Lynch coming back) it’s nice to finally get some solid filming news. Showtime president David Nevins has also confirmed that Lynch will be filming all the episodes as one long movie.

“I expect [the series] to be more than nine [episodes],” said Nevins. “It’s open ended. I know what [Lynch’s] shooting schedule is, and then I’m going to let him cut it into however many episodes it feels best at.”

Twin Peaks premieres on Showtime in 2016. You can buy Twin Peaks: The Entire Mystery on Blu-ray for £54.99 from Amazon.co.uk. Get all the latest fantasy news with every issue of SciFiNow.
