Ahhh nothing can beat the original black and white monster movies. No matter how you lavish them up with visuals and CGI, if there isn’t a good story behind it (or believeable acting), then it won’t sell. The original Wolfman had a great story that tugged at the heartstrings for its doomed monster, and even today the atmosphere and effects really stand out. Dracula and Frankenstien of this era were also super examples of the genre, which many of today’s films fail to capture. Lon Chaney Jr will always be remembered for this role and The Wolfman will have a special place in my heart.
