Thor and Thor: The Dark World star Natalie Portman confirmed the third movie way back in August 2013, but now Marvel have revealed the writers and it couldn’t be in safer hands as far as comic geeks are concerned.

According to Variety, Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost have signed on to write the script, while Yost co-wrote The Dark World, Kyle has served as producer on both Thor movies so far.

Marvel Studios boss and executive producer Kevin Fiege said of the announcement, “I am proud of Craig and have enjoyed working with him over these past years. His creative instincts have helped shape Thor and Thor: The Dark World at every level of the filmmaking process.

“The entire team at Marvel is very happy to continue collaborating with Craig as he continues as a screenwriter working with Christopher on the forthcoming chapter of Thor’s adventure.”

The pair first worked together on the classic X-Men: Evolution animated series and Wolverine And The X-Men animated series, and made the leap into comics with X-Force, New X-Men and X-23, which further developed the Wolverine clone they created on Evolution.

Separately Yost has written for the much-loved Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, The Batman and Iron Man: Armoured Adventures, and has a hefty wad of comics under his belt, including sizeable runs on Scarlet Spider, Superior Spider-Man Team Up and Red Robin.

Kyle meanwhile has also written Marvel animated movies Ultimate Avengers, Ultimate Avengers 2, Wolverine Vs Hulk and Doctor Strange: Sorceror Supreme.

Suffice to say, Thor 3 is in safe hands…
