Stanley Kubrick’s classic horror masterpiece The Shining is being shown at this year’s Film4 FrightFest, and it will be the extended version.

Presented by Kubrick’s producer Jan Harlan, this screening provides a pretty compelling reason to sit down to watch The Shining again. Not only is it an opportunity to watch those gliding steadicam shots and Jack Nicholson tearing his way through the scenery on the big screen (you may have done so before, but you can never do it enough), but you’ll get to see the version that you can’t currently own in the UK.

The film will be screening on 24 April at 6:10pm.

Tickets for The Shining are available here. You can read more about axe-happy maniacs in the SciFiNow Slasher Movies Horror Handbook.
