The Huntsman cast keeps getting more interesting

Another excellent casting choice is made for Snow White sequel The Huntsman

Jessica ChastainFollowing the news that Emily Blunt would be joining The Huntsman as Charlize Theron’s evil sister The Snow Queen, more awesome casting news has been announced.

Deadline reports that the excellent Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty, Crimson Peak, Interstellar) has signed on to join Blunt, Theron and Chris Hemsworth in an unknown role.

The report also notes that Nick Frost will be returning as Nion, one of the dwarves from the first film. It was previously reported that many of the actors would not be returning, including Toby Jones and Eddie Marsan. Deadline’s earlier story was that only two dwarfs would feature in the film, and that Frost had also taken himself out of the running, but he’s back in. Ray Winstone, Ian McShane, Johnny Harris and Brian Gleeson presumably remain possibilities.

The casting of Chastain is reassuring after the directorial shuffle that happened, with Frank Darabont dropping out to be replaced by first-time director Cedric Nicolas-Troyan. With Theron, Blunt and Chastain on board, is it time to start getting excited about The Huntsman?

The Huntsman is set for a UK cinema release on 22 June 2016. Keep up with the latest fantasy news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
