The Flash movie Phil Lord and Chris Miller confirmed

Phil Lord and Chris Miller are definitely working on The Flash movie, but for how long?

the_flashRumours broke a few days ago that 21 Jump Street and The Lego Movie‘s Phil Lord and Chris Miller were being lined up to direct Warner Bros’ The Flash movie, starring Ezra Miller.

Now, Deadline has confirmed that they are indeed working on the Justice League-er’s solo movie, but they’re not directing it…yet.

They report that the duo are “currently working on a treatment for the studio about the superhero, whose super speed allows him to seemingly break the speed of light and time travel.”

Lord and Miller are two of Hollywood’s most in demand filmmakers, and are currently overseeing two franchises already. They haven’t chosen which film they’re directing next, so they could very well jump into The Flash.

If they do so, it’s a fair bet that that “DC don’t want jokes” rumour was nonsense. You don’t hire these guys and ask them to leave their sense of humour at the door. Even if they don’t end up directing, it’s exciting to know that they’re involved at this early stage.

The Flash is released in cinemas on 23 March 2018. Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice will be released on 6 May 2016. For more on the comics that have inspired the movie, pick up our 100 All-Time Greatest Comics bookazine now!
