The Boys Season 2 adds two Timeless cast members

The Boys adds Timeless stars Goran Visnjic and Claudia Doumit to Season 2

Just a few weeks after premiering its first season on Amazon Video, The Boys is already putting its Season 2 cast together.

According to Deadline, the latest additions are Timeless stars Goran Visnjic and Claudia Doumit, both of whom have signed up for recurring roles. A note for people who are unfamiliar with the time travel series, Timeless was created by Eric Kripke, who developed The Boys for TV and serves as an executive producer alongside Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.

Visnjic is playing Alistair Adana, who is being described as “the charismatic and shadowy leader of a mysterious church.” The character didn’t appear in the comics and has been created for the TV series.

Doumit is playing Victoria Neuman, “a young wunderkind congresswoman,” who is also a new character but one who is believed to have origins that tie in with the comics.

Season 1 of The Boys stars Karl Urban (Thor: Ragnarok) as Billy Butcher, who leads a team of people intent on bringing down The Seven, a corrupt and above-the-law group of superheroes, beloved by the world even as they commit casual atrocities behind the scenes.

The show also stars Jack Quaid (Rampage) as Hughie, whose girlfriend is accidentally exploded by a superhero, Antony Starr (Banshee) as Homelander, the leader of The Seven, Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl), Erin Moriarty (Jessica Jones), Jessie T Usher (Independence Day: Resurgence), Karen Fukuhara (Suicide Squad), Laz Alonso (L.A.’s Finest), Tomer Capon (Hostages) and Elisabeth Shue (Hollow Man).

Here’s the synopsis for Season 1:

The Boys is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about The Seven.

The series arrives on Prime Video on 26 July. Get all the latest TV news with every issue of SciFiNow.
