The Avengers’ Tom Hiddleston talks Loki and Thor

The Avengers’ Tom Hiddleston talks Loki and Thor, the Joss Whedon-helmed Marvel event is in cinemas from 4 May 2012

The Avengers Loki

The Avengers LokiWhile the highlight of last night’s Avengers twitter Q&A was undoubtably Joss Whedon’s hilariously tongue in cheek responses to some of the fan queries, Loki star Tom Hiddleston was playing it straight, giving curious tweeters an insight into his character.

Hiddleston described Loki’s relationship with Thor as, “The opposite of love is not hate but indifference. And Loki hates his brother,” and his rapport with Thor actor Chris Hemsworth as being the highlight of The Avengers, “Brother-to-brother is intense. Hemsworth is a giant, but we trust each other implicitly as actors.”

Though the brattish Loki was seeking Odin’s approval in 2011’s Thor, Hiddleston shared some light on the trickster god’s motivations in the Joss Whedon-helmed event movie, “He doesn’t want revenge so much as identity,” said the acto. “Belonging. Purpose. Self-esteem. Through delusional dreams.”

The Avengers is hitting cinemas 4 May 2012, are you excited?
