Alexandre Aja’s The 9th Life Of Louis Drax has added a lot of new names to its already impressive cast.

Arrow In The Head reports that Breaking Bad‘s Aaron Paul and 50 Shades Of Grey‘s Jamie Dornan will be joined by Sarah Gadon (Cosmopolis, Dracula Untold), Molly Parker (Deadwood, House Of Cards), Oliver Platt (X-Men: First Class, The West Wing) and the great Barbara Hershey (Hannah And Her Sisters, Insidious), while young Aiden Longworth (Hector And The Search For Happiness) has been cast in the title role.

The 9th Life of Louis Drax begins on Louis Drax’s 9th birthday, when he miraculously survives a near fatal fall. His doctor Allan Pascal (Dornan) finds himself tangled between his professional responsibility and his growing affections for the boy’s mother (Gadon), a fragile young beauty. When Louis’ father (Paul) comes under suspicion, Pascal realizes other mysterious forces may be at work. With echoes of The Sixth Sense and Gone Girl, The 9th Life of Louis Drax is a supernatural thriller filled with unexpected twists and turns.”

Aja’s film is based on the book by Liz Jensen and was written by Aja’s Horns star Max Minghella. According to the site, Platt will be playing Louis’ psychologist, Parker will play a detective, and Hershey will play Louis’ grandmother.

This is a very strong line-up and we’re very excited to see Aja working with such a talented cast.

Horns is released in UK cinemas 29 October. You can buy The Ninth Life Of Louis Drax in paperback for £6.39 at Amazon.co.uk and keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
