The co-creator of the phenomenally popular Dungeons & Dragons role playing game, Gary Gygax, has died at his home in Wisconsin aged 69.
His wife Gail informed the Associated Press that her husband had been suffering from health-related issues for some time, including an abdominal aneurysm.
Despite failing health and an acrimonious split with the Dungeons & Dragons franchise in the mid Eighties, Gygax apparently held weekly games of the product until January of this year. He is survived by his wife and six children.
