phjmvlnn0juinj.jpegWarners Bros has set a 22 May 2009 release date for Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, the McG-directed next installment in the Terminator franchise.

The film, which is to begin shooting this summer in New Mexico, will be going up against mighty tough opposition though as Ben Stiller’s comedy Night At The Museum 2 has already confirmed that it will be opening the very same weekend.

Christian Bale has, much to everyone’s surprise, been cast in the role of John Connor. Aussie up and comer Sam Worthington, who’s currently beavering away with Terminator creator James Cameron on the hotly anticipated sci-fi spectacular Avatar, is rumoured to be joining the cast as Marcus,  a fellow member of the resistance.
