Sweet Tooth comics getting a TV pilot from Hulu

Hulu is looking at turning DC Vertigo’s Sweet Tooth into a TV series

Hulu has ordered a pilot episode based on DC Vertigo’s Sweet Tooth by Jeff Lemire, according to Deadline.

The series is coming from Robert Downey Jr and Susan Downey’s Team Downey production banner, as well as Hap And Leonard co-creator Jim Mickle and Warner Bros TV.

Sweet Tooth follows a deer/boy hybrid named Gus who must take on the world alone when his father passes away. But when the mysterious Jepperd suddenly comes into his life, the unlikely duo form an alliance and decide to travel to the ‘Preserve’, a fabled safe-haven for hybrid children. However, Gus’s new surrounds begin to force him to question his own existence.

The comic series was published by Vertigo, and ran from September 2009 to January 2013.

Mickle is set to executive produce with Team Downey’s Downey Jr, Downey and Amanda Burrell, and Linda Moran. Team Downey is producing in association with Warner Bros TV.
