According to TV Guide, Rick Worthy – who played the Alpha Vampire in three episodes across Supernatural Seasons 6 and 7 – has been cast as the father of Bonnie (Kat Graham) in The Vampire Diaries Season 4.
According to executive producer Julie Plec, Worthy’s character, Rudy Hopkins, is estranged from his daughter:
“This year is a big year of transitions,” said Plec. “It’s the end of senior year, and there’s a rich home life for everybody we’re going to explore.”
