In a pleasing bit of news Brandon Routh is joining the cast Chuck. The Superman star is set to appear in a multi-episode arc and is playing the part of (you guessed it) a spy. EW had this to say about the news:
“Routh’s character, Shaw, is a mysterious new spy who takes control as the new leader of Operation Bartowski, becoming a mentor to Chuck and a rival in his affections for Sarah. He first appears in this season’s fourth episode.”
With added star power in its line-up, fans are no doubt confident that the quirky series will be able to dodge the cut for many seasons to come. Routh joins a long line of celebrities that have appeared in the show, which includes the likes of Rachel Bilson, Michael Clarke Duncan, Dominic Monaghan and Gary Cole.
Season three of Chuck returns to screens in March 2010.
