David Ayer’s Suicide Squad has announced that it will be going into pre-production in February, so it makes sense that the words “final negotiations” are being thrown around.
THR reports that the big name cast is coming together, saying that Tom Hardy, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie and Jai Courtney are all in “the final stages” of talks. There’s no mention of Will Smith, who was also heavily linked to the movie.
We’re still kind of surprised that Hardy has been so consistently linked to the movie given that he’s done the whole DC Universe villain thing before but on the other hand, he’s always brilliant and he would be great fun to watch. Still, as always, nothing is confirmed until the contract is actually signed.
We’ve already heard that Robbie is up for Harley Quinn, Leto for The Joker and Courtney for Deadshot. Jesse Eisenberg has also been rumoured to reprise his role as Lex Luthor.
